Well I just read just about all of your content and I have got to say I agree with about 80% of these. That isn't bad considering we're in the same field. I was motivated to see someone prepared to speak their mind as you do. You're a great writer.

Dave, This comment actually goes with "How to export information about your VMs from vCenter"; I couldn't leave a comment on that for some reason (have them turned off? -either way, sorry).

Anyway, I have read-only access to vCenter 4.0. When I export a list of VMs, I get all the VMs, but a lot of the info is blank (like host, IP address, etc). However, when I look at vCenter the info is all there and the VMs missing the data are running.

Have any ideas? I'd appreciate it.
Nice blog, by the way.

Thanks for your suggestions. One thing I have noticed is the fact banks along with financial institutions are aware of the spending habits of consumers plus understand that plenty of people max out their real credit cards around the getaways. They correctly take advantage of this kind of fact and commence flooding your current inbox in addition to snail-mail box along with hundreds of no-interest APR credit card offers soon after the holiday season ends. Knowing that should you be like 98% of the American open public, you'll jump at the opportunity to consolidate consumer credit card debt and switch balances towards 0 APR credit cards.aiyi9527$$$$$

I love my Hand-e-holder. I attached it to the back of my very thin SwitchEasy case for the iPad 2 (BuddyCover), which allows me to still use the Apple Smart Cover for the front. With those three items I have everything I need! The strap provides a comfortable fit for holding the iPad, and I use the SmartCover with the Hand-e-holder to prop up the iPad just about anywhere and any way I need. I never remove it because the whole ensemble fits neatly in my iPad tote.

Dave,

The steps noted in the KB article are not correct, this is something we are aware of and will be fixed shortly. I would recommend you linking to the VMware KB so that users get the right instructions.

Also I've created a script to help automate this process as you may have noticed the steps in the KB is not the easiest to follow. You can find more details in this article http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2012/02/automating-auto-expand-configuration-for-a-dvportgroup-in-vsphere-5.html

Thanks

This is good to know. Sucks that it requires the more expensive license of vSphere though. VMware needs to provide a true SRM solution to controlling replication bandwidth usage/throttling.

Great write-up Dave. Glad to see they are making strides in more affordable SRM for the SMB. That being said, I still think they need to get away from requiring a minimum of vSphere Standard just to use SRM. For the shop with 25 VM's who would like to use SRM, the price jump between Essentials Plus and vSphere Standard is a major hurdle.
