Many customers ask me about using Multicast in ESX. What’s supported and what’s not? What the best way to architect it?
VMware just published a great white paper on the subject. You can find it here .
It describes all of the router considerations as well as specific NIC load balancing scenarios and what will work or not. If you need multicast in a virtual enviornment, it’s definately worth a look.
